Summer Walking Tour - Historic Gastown

Join Architects and Design Consultants on an hour-long walking tour of Gastown with industry professionals.
Andrew Lockhart of Atmosphere Architect in partnership with Peeroj Thakre of PH5 Architecture will share their insights about the neighbourhood and historic buildings.
The tour will start in the plaza where Powell, Alexander, Water and Carrall Streets intersect (Maple Tree Square). See you next to Gassy Jack's statue or possibly in front of the the distinctive Europe Hotel Building.
Focusing on buildings with historic significance, we will stop a several locations with short walks in between. The tour finishes with a social at one of Gastown's famous restaurant-pubs.
All PSMA members and guests are welcome! Cost is $15 per person. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome on the walking tour. (Youth over 16 pay adult prices.)

Peeroj Thakre
ph5 Architecture
Peeroj is a principal and founder of ph5 architecture. She has a solid foundation in community and commercial projects. Her full range of architectural skills include pre-design services (feasibility studies, programming, space planning, urban design).
She is committed to clear communication and consensus building with project stakeholders. Her design approach is a blend of pragmatism and idealism that leads to successfully realized projects and enhanced spatial and social environments. Peeroj is active in the architecture community, as a guest critic and adjunct professor at UBC, mentor, and urban thinker. RAIC recognized her work with an advocacy award.
Andrew Lockhart

Experienced in delivering complex, multi-use projects Andrew is skilled in balancing the needs of users, owners and stakeholders with building functionality and architectural expression. He takes a keen interest in analyzing and documenting existing assets and patterns embedded within project sites, using his unique insight to resolve issues of build-ability and construction staging.
Andrew has gained a breadth of experience taking projects from idea to reality at award winning firms across Canada; with leadership roles on projects super small to extra large, in sectors ranging from education to culture and hospitality. Andrew approaches each project with the same curiosity and rigour, working as a team leader to discover and deliver each project’s goals and aspirations
A maker at heart, Andrew has a breadth of experience in construction, working for some of Canada’s largest contractors on significant city building projects. Andrew’s approach to architecture balances design aspirations with the constraints of the building site, market conditions, pro-forma and constructability.
